Maintenance

To maintain excellent functionality without comprising efficiency, and to preserve the high standard of the quality of our objects, it is advisable not to expose them to the sun or near high heat sources for extended periods of time, as the handles made from natural materials could dehydrate.

Cleaning

To clean our products, we recommend washing them by hand rather than putting them in the dishwasher, as the harshness of the detergent in addition to the prolonged soaking in water could damage both the handles made from natural materials and the steel blade. It is imperative to dry the knife after washing.

Treatment

From time to time, it’ s a good idea to treat the natural material of the handle with olive oil, especially around the wooden parts. This will keep the material hydrated and prevent any cracks. To do so, apply some oil with a cotton ball and then leave it to absorb for a few minutes, then dry the handle with paper.

Stain removal

If the knifes are not dried immediately after washing, stains may appear on the blades. If this happens, you can clean the blade with water and baking soda.

Sharpening

To sharpen the blade, use a simple steel sharpener, respecting the gradient of the edge (which ranges between 15 and 20 degrees) and always working against the cutting edge. Pass along both sides of the blade until you feel that the knife is sharpened. If further sharpening is required, we recommend that you bring the product to our workshop or to another qualified cutler’s shop.
