Description
Traditional Maremmano originates from the Tuscan and Lazio Maremma and dates back to the first half of the nineteenth century. Traces of this knife can be found in some examples preserved in the Criminological Museum of Rome, seized from rioters during a rebellion that took place in the Civitavecchia prison in 1848. The production of this knife is typically Tuscan, and we find this model with a single pianella blade in the catalogs of the mid-nineteenth century . The Traditional Maremmano is a knife with a robust structure, it has a traditionally ox horn handle embellished with longitudinal grooves and it has always had an important position in the production of knives in Scarperia.
