Description
A historical knife, dating to the nineteenth century, which belonged to a real person: the Ravenna brigand Stefano Pelloni, known as Passator Cortese (1824-1851). Pelloni had set out on the “macchia” in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. An unfolding of events made him legendary, so much that he came to represent a rebellious soul of Risorgimento, which clashed against the austere and oppressive policies of that time. As the legend goes, he gave poor families a part of what he stole from rich travellers, in exchange for protection. Later, a bounty was placed on his head and he was betrayed, dying at a young age. The history of the Passatore lives on through our reproduction with the knife dedicated to him, which is inspired by the original model.
